The forest of Hambach needs protection as the German coal company RWE wants to cut it down this fall, sacrificing a unique forest for dirty coal mining. It’s time for us in Berlin to support the actions of the forest protectors:

We knit the Red Line.

At the mass action “Ende Gelände!” (Here and no further!) end of october, people will draw a red line between the open cast coal mining of Hambach and the thousands of years old forest.

Monday evening, September 24th at 7pm we will meet for a knit-in, knitting red scarfs for people, who will travel from Berlin to the Rhineland to form the red line in front of the forest.

You don’t need to know how to knit – everyone is warmly invited!
“Ende Gelände!” activists will be there to give updates about the current situation in the forest, and share info about planned actions.

If you have, please bring your own knitting needles. We’ll have plenty of red wool…

Looking forward to meeting you!
