A big warm welcome to this beautiful Upcycling Mosaic Workshop!
Mosaic is all about putting many tiny bits together to a big picture. What could be better than using materials that are already broken? We are going to use shattered dishes and old tiles and revive them as beautiful mosaic artworks. This time we are going to make a hook rack – pretty and handy to hang e.g. towels, kitchen utensils or jewellery.
Pick your favorite colours from my wide palette of collected materials. I am going to show you how you can cut the sherds into shapes. You can then puzzle them together the way you wish. We are going to glue the little bits onto a strip of wood and as a last step, fill the gaps with grout. The final mosaic is going to be magical – it always is :)
We are going to have a small break with tea and cake :)
Each of you can make a hook bar of 8x33cm with 4 metal hooks. There is the option to make a picture frame of about 20x25cm instead. You´re welcome to bring your broken favorite mug, granny´s old tea pot or any spare tiles you might have.
No mosaic knowledge required.
