I.G.O. Thursday Meditative Vocal Jam Sessions @ Baumhaus
We meet every Thursday to listen, respond, observe and curiously play with the sounds our voices create together. Our objective is to tune into the common feeling we are developing in the present moment.
Most of what we do is with our eyes closed. This allows everyone to be very focused on only the sound space without any other distractions. We usually are more beginners than experienced singers, and that’s absolutely fine. It is a learning process in progress, each time balancing ourselves in volume and expression to merge into the group sound space, allowing everyone to hear and be heard, naturally developing our own musical styles.
All levels and voice types are welcome! Just make sure to be on time: Scott will explain a few basic and intuitively understandable concepts to make it super easy to dive in for everyone.

FLOW – a 90 minute connective musical meditation experience
( 2 sessions – 18:45 & 21:45)
• Cost 10€ – includes all you can eat bio/vegan buffet & more after the session
• No registration needed, max 25 spaces available
• contact – info@baumhausberlin.de
Flow is a state of being… an experience when you allow yourself to be 100% fully engaged in the present moment in a feedback loop between clarity and satisfaction. It is an undeniable sensation where things seem to be more effortless, pleasurable, in sync, and you can easily sense a connection with something greater than yourself; this is what we will create…:
• a connected and mindful meditation where it is possible to blissfully surf the cutting edge of the present moment together…
• a game where it’s possible to feel excited and calm in the same moment, and everyone can win as much as they like…
Scott Bolden, co-founder of Das Baumhaus Berlin will share some very easy, practical and effective methods developed over the past 5 years of facilitating the “Improvisational Groove Orchestra” (I.G.O.) improv vocal jam sessions. Within 20 minutes participants learn to use the common sound space to create resonance in the form of improvisational music where it is quite common to experience some real flow moments…
It is very easy to participate, no musical talent or training is required so anyone is welcome to join. Most of the session is done with eyes closed to avoid visual distractions and keep focus on the co-created sound space. During these sessions we will also have special guest instrumental musicians, poets, writers and beat-boxers etc… If you would like to be a special guest, please send us a message.
Important – if you have never done this in the Baumhaus before and can not make it in time for the intro and warm up, then please wait until the next session to join. It is very important to understand the methodology and warm up in the group before joining in!
Program:
18:00 – Doors open, meet and greet
18:45 – Workshop first session starts
20:00 – All you can eat Bio/Vegan Buffet and community networking in our “Open Greeting Zone” until 23:00
21:45 – Workshop second session starts (if there is space and you joined in the first session then you are welcome to join the second session at no additional cost!)
+ TBD – poets, singers, instrumentalists etc. send mail to info@baumhausberlin.de to apply for a ‘special guest’ spot.

Designing New Spaces for Sustainability in Berlin
Using Edward de Bono’s “Six-Thinking-Hats” technique, we will set out to explore the following question: “Which places and spaces can we design in Berlin to ignite a more embodied experience of sustainability in people’s everyday lives?” No previous knowledge of the subject matter is required. By the end of this 90-minute session, the group will have collected a pool of ideas that attendees are welcome to take home and transform into actionable initiatives. The workshop will be held primarily in English to accommodate an international audience. Participants may also ask questions/give input in German, which the workshop facilitator will be happy to translate for the group.
Please confirm participation with a short email to info@baumhausberlin.de with the subject: New Spaces Workshop
Pay-as-you-feel €8 – €20, after the workshop (includes coffee, tea, water & snacks)
We ask participants to consider:
• their personal budget
• the value of their experiences during the workshop in the Baumhaus
• the value of supporting the Baumhaus so that we can continue facilitating these and various other types of experiences
—–
This workshop is being offered as part of the 7th annual Emergent Berlin festival of sustainable initiatives from October 11 until 20. Program event details can be seen here: http://www.emergentberlinfest.de/index.php/program-2019/

14.00 Uhr: WORKSHOP „CRITICAL WHITENESS”
Was bedeutet weiß-sein eigentlich?

«Was machen wir hier eigentlich?» Was macht Sinn, wo verzetteln wir uns? Was steht 2020 an?
Danach Ausklang mit Snacks & Getränken
Ohne Anmeldung, kommt vorbei & diskutiert mit!
• • • NETZWERK BRUNCH / Wedding Climate Action 2020 • • •

a workshop by “comit”:
To build a sustainable project, a balance has to be found between the project’s vision and its financial viability: how to make the project resilient without losing sight of its mission, and how to fulfill the vision without exhausting the stakeholders?
comit helps entrepreneurs and NGOs develop sustainable projects, by conceiving and adapting methods and tools to empower, entrepreneurs, freelancers and managers to structure the business-model of their organisations. Throughout this workshop, we will introduce a way to set up a strong business-model in line with the vision. This approach will then be applied on your projects through exchanges and examples.
6pm: Doors open
6.30pm – 8pm: Workshop in the back room of Baumhaus
8pm: Community Dinner (we’ll join Baumhaus Community Night in the front room)
pay-as-you-feel 5-10 € as a contribution to Baumhaus space, incl. tee & coffee & vegan buffet
