In this workshop we will explore various methods to create improvisational music with voice and body in a comfortable and supportive environment. We will explore how to connect with each other via many musical styles, layering vocal rhythms, melodies, spoken word and tones.

This workshop is designed for singers of all vocal levels from beginners to professionals. Scott will provide the general moderation but any group member can also contribute to guiding us in the creation and discovery of new paths of vocal expression.

So far, we have explored circle singing, polyrhythmic loops, Balinese Kecak chanting, traditional choral singing, freestyle lyrics, vocal and body percussion, water music, emergent improvisational compositions, gospel/spiritual, hip hop, reggae & dub +++

The address is Gerichtstr. 23 in the front house on the 3rd floor, you can walk in our door from the sidewalk. Please bring snacks and drinks to share.

This is a free event, any voluntary donations from the evening will go towards buying more candles and the general project to build das Baumhaus Berlin.

In angenehmer Atmosphäre probieren wir verschiedene Methoden aus, wie wir unter Einsatz unseres ganzen Körpers Musik improvisieren können. Über verschiedene Musikstile, Rhythmen, Melodien, gesprochene Wörter und Töne vernetzten wir uns, bilden eine Gemeinschaft, finden einen “gemeinsamen Ton”.

Der Workshop richtet sich an alle Singbegeisterten, vom Anfänger bis zum Experten. Scott übernimmt die allgemeine Moderation, aber jeder Teilnehmer kann Vorschläge einbringen und neue Übungen vorstellen.

Bis jetzt haben wir folgende Methoden ausprobiert: Circle Singing (“Kreis singen”), polyrhythmische Schleifen, balinesischen Kecak-Gesang, traditionellen Chorgesang, Freestyle, Vokal- und Körpergesang, Wassermusik, emergente improvisierte Kompositionen, Gospel/Spiritual, Hip Hop, Reggae und Dub.

Wir treffen uns in der Gerichtstr. 23 VH 3.OG (Tür direkt am Bürgersteig). Bringt Essen und Trinken zum Teilen mit.

Das Event ist kostenlos, wir freuen uns aber über Spenden für die Kerzenbeleuchtung und das Baumhaus-Projekt.  Dieses Meetup wurde und wird inspiriert und unterstützt von Kati Alberts “Singing the Groove”-Meetup-Gruppe.

Would you Like to be Involved in the Planning? Our second meeting is on Wednesday 03.12. – info and contact

We are small group of interested people from different backgrounds who are planning a day-event (on a date to be set in January 2015) which would involve multi-disciplinary arts performance and exhibition, in order to raise money for sleeping bags for the homeless in Berlin as well as create a general awareness of their situation.

We think it best to confine the fund-raising focus of this event specifically to the provision of sleeping-bags. That way we will not “spread ourselves too thin” and will be providing something practical which — according to a recent survey — homeless people themselves have said is what they most need.

Wollt Ihr /Wollen Sie an der Planung beteiligt sein? Zweite Treffen am mittwoch 03.12. – info + Kontakt

Wir sind eine kleine Gruppe interessierter Menschen mit unterschiedlichen Hintergründen, die ein Tagesevent (geplant für den Januar 2015) mit multi-disziplinären Kunstveranstaltungen und –ausstellungen organisieren wollen. Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, Geld für Schlafsäcke für die Berliner Obdachlosen zu sammeln und auf ihre Situation aufmerksam zu machen.

Wir halten es für das Beste, den Fokus der Spendenaktion auf die Bereitstellung der Schlafsäcke zu beschränken. Auf diese Weise können wir unsere Ressourcen konzentrieren und versorgen die Obdachlosen mit etwas Praktischem, das sie nach eigener Aussage ― laut einer aktuellen Umfrage― am dringendsten benötigen.

Der Bürgermeister von Berlin Mitte ist jetzt unser Unterstützer!

Wir haben uns vor kurzem mit Christian Hanke, dem Bürgermeister von Mitte, eine halbe Stunde in seinem Büro getroffen. Wir hatten ein schönes Gespräch und eine gute Diskussion über das Baumhausprojekt und wie unsere mit seinen Zielen für die kulturelle Entwicklung im Wedding zusammenpassen. Zur Eröffnung hat uns Herr Hanke seine Schirmherrschaft angeboten, und Unterstützung bei der Projektfinanzierung.

Die Konferenz der Visionäre beschäftigt sich mit essentiellen Fragestellungen dieser Transformation, gibt Einblick in Alternativen und regt zu Diskussion und Austausch an.

Visionäre Pilotprojekte, Wissenschaftler, Komplementärmediziner, Vereine, Konzepte & Initiativen stellen sich vor und teilen ihre Inspiration, Erfahrung und Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten in Vorträgen, Workshops und Standpräsentationen.

Eine lebendige Ausstellung zum Thema “Innerer Reichtum” (Kuratorinnen: Nicole Loeser und Alenka Bencak) und viele Internationale Künstler unterstützen die Konferenz der Visionäre. Dazu gibt es ein vielfältiges Familienprogramm.

Wir laden euch herzlich ein, dabei zu sein und gemeinsam mit uns viele neue Türen zu öffnen.
