Improvisational Groove Orchestra (I.G.O.) – a fun way to experience authentic connection and community through exploring a commonly created sound space. (links to examples below)

We meet every other Thursday to listen, respond, observe and curiously play with the sounds our voices create together. Our objective is to tune into the common feeling we are developing in the present moment.

Most of what we do is with our eyes closed. This allows everyone to be very focussed on only the sound space without any other distractions…

At each session we usually have an equal number of beginners and experienced singers; all levels and voice types are welcome. Scott will explain a few basic and intuitively understandable concepts to make it super easy to dive in and be jamming out within the first 1/2 hour.

It is a learning process in progress, each time balancing ourselves in volume and expression to merge into the group sound space, allowing everyone to hear and be heard, naturally developing our own musical styles.

The last times we explored further into the human sequencer game – a system where one person acts as a conductor, splitting the group into small parts, giving each small group unique impulses that than develop into one composition.

The address is Gerichtstr. 23 in the front house on the ground floor, you can walk in our door from the sidewalk. Please bring healthy snacks to share, we will have some drinks in the fridge on a donation basis, we also have hot water for tea & coffee.

Wir freuen uns auf das erste Treffen für das Emergent Berlin Fest 2016 für soziale und nachhaltige Initiativen. Dienstag, den 17. Mai von 20:00-22:00 auf der Baumhausbaustelle, Gerichtstr. 23. Wir wollen uns einfach erstmal wieder zusammensetzen, alte und neue Gesichter begrüßen und allgemeine Visionen und Ideen für das diesjährige Festival austauschen.

Dieses Jahr wollen wir auch bei den OSCE Days am 12. und 13. Juni mitmachen und für die Festivalplanung nutzen. Wir wollen ein Konzept entwickeln, wie das gesamte Festival Open Source und Zero Waste werden kann.

We are pleased to announce the first meeting for this year’s Emergent Berlin festival of sustainable initiatives on Tuesday, May 17 from 20-22:00 at Das Baumhaus, Gerichtstr. 23.  This will just be a kick-off warm up gathering to bring old and new faces together and exchange general visions and ideas.

This year, we will participate in the OSCE Days on June 12 and 13 and use the time to plan how we can make the Emergent Berlin festival (September 23-25) an open source and zero waste event.

• die Holzkonstruktion im Seminarraum ist weiter gewachsen
• Wasserleitungen in der Küche wurden installiert
• Estrich in Küche und Toilette wurde verlegt

Wir haben neue Freiwillige und Praktikanten im Baumhausteam und auch das Beleuchtungsteam hat einen neuen Mitarbeiter. Es gibt eine neue Arbeitsgruppe des vertikalen Garten Teams das sich mit dem Boden beschäftigt, die Vermikultur-Gruppe hat mit der Wurmzucht begonnen.

Wir hatten die erste CSA Abholung mit unseren neuen Mitgliedern und haben verschiedene online Nachbarschaftsplattformen miteinander verglichen. Außerdem gab es eine tolle „Improvisational Groove Orchestra“ Session.

In den kommenden Wochen werden wir:

• die Wände der Konstruktionen schließen
• letzte Rahmen für ein begehbares Möbelstück bauen
• die ästhetischen Details von Seminarraum, Baumstamm, Küche und Bar weiter ausarbeiten

Gemeinsam den Spaß am Singen in der Gruppe entdecken…Mit geschlossen Augen starten wir mit ein paar Aufwärm- und Lockerungsübungen für Stimme und Körper und beginnen dann, ausgehend von einem Impuls wie einer Beatbox, einer gesungenen Melodie oder körpergenerierten Perkussivklängen, einzigartige und wunderschöne Kompositionen zu kreiieren.

Unser Ziel: Wie können wir einen Raum schaffen in dem jeder jeden hören, jedem zuhören und sich sich auf jeden einstimmen und inspirieren lassen kann. Es ist ein ständiger Lernprozess in dem wir erfahren wie wir unsere Stimmen und unseren Ausdruck in Balance bringen können damit jeder hören und gehört werden kann.

Die letzen Male sind wir tiefer in den „Human Sequencer“ getaucht – ein System, in dem eine Person die Kontrolle als Dirigent übernimmt, die Gruppe in verschiedene kleine teilen aufteilt und jeder einzelnen Gruppe verschiedene Impulse gibt und damit eine ganz eigene Art von Komposition schafft.

[:de]Letzte Woche gab es weitere Fortschritte bei den Arbeiten im Seminarraum. In der Küche wurden die Wasserleitungen verlegt. Im Baumhausteam gibt es neue Freiwillige und Praktikanten, auch das Beleuchtungsteam hat neue Mitarbeiter. Das Vermikultur- und vertikaler Garten Team hat ihren Prototyp weiterentwickelt. Die erste Gemüse-Abholung mit unseren neuen Mitgliedern der CSA-Baumhausgruppe fand am Donnerstag statt. Wir haben verschiedene online Nachbarschaftsplattformen miteinander verglichen und eine weitere tolle ‚Improvisational Groove Orchestra’ Sitzung gehabt!

Diese Woche verlegen wir den Estrich in Küche und Toilette. Außerdem bauen wir die letzten Holzrahmen und schließen die Wände der bestehenden Konstruktionen. Die ästhetischen Details des Baumhaus wurden weiter ausgearbeitet.
