Zwei Wochen intensives Bauen liegen vor uns – jetzt lasst uns noch einmal zusammen reinhängen. Der Baumhausraum muss legal und funktional werden, damit das Projekt weitergehen kann!

October 25 – November 7

Two weeks of intensive building work ahead – let’s get together again for the final push to make the Baumhaus space legally functional so we can keep the project alive and moving forward!

Come by and join us any day (schedule below) – no special skills required, and we’re happy about everybody helping out for a few hours!

We will be:
• installing and finishing a wood mosaic bar using upcycled / recycled wood and other ecological building materials
• constructing and decorating organic interior facades
• painting surfaces – general & decorative
• attaching branches to installations
• building and installing small finishing details with wood, clay, ceramic mosaic, textiles and lighting
• cooking for the team
• general cleaning
• documenting and sharing the process

Join and support Scott in creating the design for the next major mosaic installation in the Men’s toilet room. Bring drinks, snacks, games, music and creativity to share. The Baumhaus will be be transformed into a creative lounge… bring your own projects to work on or join in the ones we have here, take a break on the dance floor… All support is welcome

Thanks to everyone who came out to help prepare for and participate in our first regular community day! Great vibes, good ideas, a yummy rescued bio buffet, a zero waste panel discussion, a workshop painting with colors made from plants, a meeting with a local Wedding group, a clothing exchange complete with a sustainability lottery/quiz plus a whole lot of fun gettign good thing done! p.s. We still really need people to help us finish the space before November so we can get legal and stay open! We are here every week day from 10 until 20:00; just stop by and help with one of our projects…

[:en]We are back to working every weekday from 10 until 10 unless we have a gathering in the evening… Like this Monday and every Thursday when The Real Junk Food Project: Berlin will cook another bio rescued food dinner feast for helpers and visitors.

We still need more hands each day this week to jam the next finishing work out. Skilled and unskilled help is welcome! Everyday something in the space is transforming.

Another heart-felt big thanks go out to all the generous and wonderful people who have helped to build the space and event program so far!

Nächste Schritte zur Eröffnung am 24. September

Liebe Freunde des Baumhauses,

Tausend Dank an alle, die uns beim Crowdfunding unterstützt haben (16.038€) – und an alle, die letze Woche zum ersten Mal auf die Baustelle gekommen und mitgeholfen haben! In den letzten Wochen haben wir versucht, auch intern unsere Hausaufgaben zu machen, aus Fehlern zu lernen und unser Bauteam neu strukturiert. Jetzt gehen wir gemeinsam in großen Schritten auf die Eröffnung zu und wir freuen uns über alle, die für ein paar Stunden vorbeikommen und mitanpacken!

MOSAIK

Wer will mitbasteln? Diesen Montag und jedentag ab 11 Uhr bauen wir buntes Recycling-Mosaik und Wurzeln in die Baumhaus-Toiletten.

MITBAUEN, MALERN, HOLZ

Jeden Tag ab 10 Uhr geht es rund auf der Baustelle. Kommt vorbei, schaut euch die Fortschritte und packt mit an! Je mehr helfende Hände, destso besser. Wir malern, schrauben, putzen… und nachmittags gibt es Essen für alle.

LEHMPUTZ WORKSESSIONS 24.-28.08

Wir freuen uns sehr: Ab Mittwoch den 24.08. geht es los mit dem Lehmputz! Keine Vorkenntnisse erforderlich! (jedentag 11 bis 21 Uhr)

Next steps until our opening on September 24

Dear Baumhaus friends, Thousand thanks to all of you for supporting our crowdfunding (16,038€) – and to all of you who came by in the last week for the first time and helped on the construction site! The last weeks we tried to do our homework internally as well, grow smarter and restructure our building team. Now we’re stepping forward towards opening together, and we’re happy about everyone who comes by for a few hours and pitch in so we can open on September 24!

MOSAIC

Join us this week (everyday from 11 until late) for an extended mosaic session, building beautiful recycling 3D mosaics and roots in the Baumhaus bathrooms.

PAINTING, WOODWORKING Every day starting at 10am we’re at the construction site. Come by, check out our progress and pitch in! No special skills required. We paint, clean, work with wood… and in the afternoon there is food for everyone.

CLAY WORKSHOP Aug 24 – 28

We’re excited: The clay work will start Wednesday! Who wants to participate?  No experience needed.  (workshop runs everyday, Wednesday until Sunday, August from 11 until 9pm.

[:de]Eine Woche voller Mosaik steht an – kommt vorbei und macht mit, für ein paar Stunden oder länger. Wir wollen zusammen mit euch tolle Recycling 3D Mosaiken in die Baumhaus-Toiletten zaubern. Zeiten für Mosaiksessions:

Dienstag (16.8.) 10-16 Uhr (oder länger…)
Mittwoch (17.8.) ab 10-16 Uhr (oder länger…)
Donnerstag (18.8.) ab 10-16 Uhr (oder länger…)
Sonntag (21.8.) 12-18Uhr (oder länger…)

Was wir machen werden: Wir sägen und feilen Ytong Steine in die Form von Wurzeln, und bringen sie an die Wände. Dann machen wir uns zunächst an die Zerstörung: Keramikfliesen werden zerhämmert und in die gewünschte Form gebracht…bevor wir sie in schönen Mustern auf den Wurzelsteinen zu neuem Leben erwecken. Verfugen….et voilá! Ein fantastisches recyling 3D Moasik – erschaffen von euch!

Wir haben schon reichlich Mosaikmaterialien aber gerne könnt ihr ausgediente Teller mitbringen oder -falls vorhanden- alte Fliesen (max 8mm dick) gerne erdige Naturfarben oder blau und grün.

What we will do: First we cut and rasp gas concrete blocks in the shape of roots and fix them onto the walls. Then comes the destruction work: hammering old ceramic tiles into little pieces… before we revive them to beautiful patterns on the root shapes. Grouting…. et voilá! Stunning recycling 3D mosaic – made by you!

We have quite some mosaic material already, but you can still bring old dishes or tiles (max 8mm thick) in earthy colours or blue and greenish shades.

19:00 Uhr Ankommen und Kennenlernen

Es ist Zeit für den zweiten Teil unseres Pflanzenarrangement-Treffens für unseren vertikalen Garten. Während des letzten Treffens haben wir für die große Wandfläche ein paar wunderbare Skizzen angefertigt. Dann haben wir abgestimmt, welche Muster uns am meisten gefallen. Jetzt geht es darum, die Pflanzen auszusuchen, um das Muster an der Wand zu entwerfen.

It’s part two of our vertical garden plant arrangement meeting.
During the last meeting we managed to come up with some wonderful designs for the new garden that will cover a large area on the wall. We then picked out our favorite patterns. Now we have to see how we arrange the plants to match the pattern.
