An improvisational vocal workshop with a groovy soul…

In this workshop we will explore various methods to create improvisational music with voice and body in a comfortable and supportive environment. We will explore how to connect with each other via many musical styles, layering vocal rhythms, melodies, spoken word and tones.

In this evening’s session we will use some fun methods to bring us into a deeper state of expanded focus on the sounds space that we will create together.  We will experiment with some new frameworks that will allow us to artfully improvise and evolve our compositions of the moment using voice and body.

Before each improv composition we will quickly review a few basic ideas and guide lines that we have developed until now so that new people can fit right in quicker.

• This workshop is designed for singers of all vocal levels. Scott will provide the general moderation and structure for the first half of the session but any group member can also contribute to guiding us in the creation and discovery of new paths of vocal expression.

• participants  are encouraged to come with a musical idea to share (bass line, melody, rhythmic pattern, text, genre influence, a methodology, game etc.)

Ein improvisatorischer Gesangsworkshop mit einer groovigen Seele…

Während dieses Workshops werden wir in einer gemütlichen und unterstützenden Umgebung verschiedene Methoden ausprobieren, in denen es darum geht, Improvisationsmusik mit der Stimme und dem Körper zu machen. Über diverse Musikstile, die Überlagerung von stimmlichen Rhythmen, Melodien, das gesprochene Wort und Klänge werden wir erkunden, wie wir miteinander in Verbindung treten können.

An diesem Abend werden wir einige lustige Methoden anwenden, um uns in einen Zustand der verstärkten Aufmerksamkeit zu bringen auf den Klangraum, den wir zusammen schaffen werden. Wir werden mit einigen neuen Grundbausteinen experimentieren, die es uns erlauben werden, kunstvoll zu improvisieren und unsere spontanen Kompositionen mit Hilfe der Stimme und des Körpers zu entwickeln.

Vor jeder improvisierten Komposition werden wir kurz einige grundlegende Ideen und Richtlinien, die wir bis jetzt entwickelt haben, wiederholen, sodass Neueinsteiger sich schneller hineinfinden können.

– Dieser Workshop ist für Sänger aller stimmlichen Niveaus konzipiert. Scott wird sich um die allgemeine Moderation und die Struktur für die erste Hälfte der Sitzung kümmern, aber auch jedes Gruppenmitglied kann dazu beitragen, uns in den Schaffensprozess und die Entdeckung neuer Wege des stimmlichen Ausdrucks zu führen.

– Die Teilnehmer werden ermutigt, eine musikalische Idee mitzubringen (Basslinien, Melodien, rhythmische Muster, Texte, Einflüsse von Genres, Methodologien, Spiele etc.)

:: die Inspiration des Abends – TRIBAL

Die Adresse ist Gerichtstr. 23, im Erdgeschoss des Vorderhauses. Man kann die Räumlichkeiten von der Straße aus sehen, sie sollten jedoch durch die Seitentür betreten werden. Bringt Snacks, Getränke und Stimmung mit.

Empfohlene Spende: 3-5€ :: für die Kerzen, die Heizungen und die Elektrizität und damit es mit dem Baumhaus-Projekt weitergeht.

Diesen Frühling werden wir damit beginnen, das Projekt nach draußen und auf die Straßen zu bringen…!

Die WeddingWandler laden dich zum Upcycling ins Baumhaus ein.
Anlässlich der bevorstehenden Garten- (und Balkongarten)-Saison basteln wir aus Müll Blumen- und Pflanzentöpfe.

Ob hängende Töpfe oder Tetrapakblumenkästen, Ideen zum Ausprobieren gibt es genug.
Wer mag, kann auch an eigenen Projekten weiterarbeiten, sich spontan inspirieren lassen oder das Zusammensein genießen.

Material und Werkzeug werden da sein, über eine kleine Spende freuen wir uns.

What you need:
Come with at least six small envelopes/packets of seeds ready to swap (either same variety or a mix).

On the envelope, state:

– The variety/mix
– Where you got them from

Think about how many seeds worth swapping in each pack (for example, packets could be of 15-20 coriander seeds or 4-6 pumpkin seeds).

The swap will take a few hours, after which we’ll have time to keep mingling a little.

In angenehmer Atmosphäre probieren wir verschiedene Methoden aus, wie wir unter Einsatz unseres ganzen Körpers Musik improvisieren können. Über verschiedene Musikstile, Rhythmen, Melodien, gesprochene Wörter und Töne vernetzten wir uns, bilden eine Gemeinschaft, finden einen „gemeinsamen Ton“.

Der Workshop richtet sich an alle Singbegeisterten, vom Anfänger bis zum Experten. Scott übernimmt die allgemeine Moderation, aber jeder Teilnehmer kann Vorschläge einbringen und neue Übungen vorstellen.

Bis jetzt haben wir folgende Methoden ausprobiert: Circle Singing („Kreis singen“), polyrhythmische Schleifen, balinesischen Kecak-Gesang, traditionellen Chorgesang, Freestyle, Vokal- und Körpergesang, Wassermusik, emergente improvisierte Kompositionen, Gospel/Spiritual, Hip Hop, Reggae und Dub.

Wir treffen uns in der Gerichtstr. 23 VH 3.OG (Tür direkt am Bürgersteig). Bringt Essen und Trinken zum Teilen mit.

Das Event ist kostenlos, wir freuen uns aber über Spenden für die Kerzenbeleuchtung und das Baumhaus-Projekt.

This year the OuiShare Fest 2015 is held under the theme: “Lost in Transition?”. Transition, transformation, shift: these are words we hear a lot lately to express how the economy, environment, politics and business are changing. What exactly are we transitioning to? What direction would we like to go in? What could a collaborative society look like?

Entrepreneurs and social innovators, non-profit and business leaders, grassroots activists and public officials are gathering in Paris from May 20-22 to ask these questions together and look for possible answers. They are coming to debate, build and co-create the transition to a collaborative society. Will you join them?

We have some very good news to share… For more than 3 years we have been developing the Baumhaus project with the help of a great community of collaborative partners, supporters and enthusiasts.  We just got word that we will receive a substantial credit from one of Berlin’s major lending institutions so now we can finally start to renovate the space!

At this meeting we will give a full update on the status of the project and what will be happening in the next months, how we will organize this process and answer questions about how it will be possible to participate in the project.  Afterwards, we will head upstairs to Baumhaus planning headquarters and and celebrate with a proper party with a special live/dj performances!

Bring drinks, snacks and good ideas to share…

A salon style event where 3 provocateurs have 10 minutes each to present an interesting concept or idea related to the topic of „AESTHETIC BALANCE“ as catalytic ‚food for thought‘ in the form of spoken word, sound or dance. Whereas, „AESTHETICS“ refers to all the ways in which it is possible to sense beauty in the world…

After each provocation there will be a short Q & A discussion session where attendees, artists and creators are invited to interpret and transform the provocateur’s input into their chosen media (drawing, painting, sculpting, writing, discussion, etc.).

:: Provocateurs ::

• Isaac Abrams (Woodstock, NY, USA) – Known in some circles as „The Godfather of Psychedelic Art“. In his 70s, he is enjoying a very active renaissance of painting, sculpting and drawing. In 2012 Isaac completed his most ambitious sandblasted glass artwork to date especially for the Baumhaus! We are honored to have him as a special guest provocateur.

• Dr. Andreas Weber (Berlin) – Prolific author, philosopher and academic catalyst. The titles and descriptions of his work speak for themselves:
– Enlivenment. Towards a fundamental shift in the concepts of nature, culture and politics. Ecology series vol. 31. Berlin: Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung 2013
– Alles fühlt. Mensch, Natur und die Revolution der Lebenswissenschaften, Berlin Verlag, Berlin 2007. Neu mit einem Vorwort von Michael Succow 2014 thinkOYA, Klein Jasedow.

• Onika Simon (New York/Berlin) – is a design strategist and art curator who runs Spokehub, a think tank for individuals, start-ups and brands. She started the ARTSHO project in 2009, to find a more daring and collaborative way to raise money for charity each year. And after becoming a thinker in London and a doer in New York, she moved to Berlin in 2014 to become an enabler of disruptive and creative progress.

• There will be tables and chairs available to use for people who would like to draw, paint, write, etc. (come early to set up if needed)

DE/ Aktiver Kunst-Salon #2 – „Beauty Salon“

Eine Veranstaltung im Salon-Stil. Drei Provokateure stellen jeweils zehn Minuten lang ein interessantes Konzept oder eine Idee zum Thema „Aesthetik Balance“ vor. Diese Denkanstöße („Food for thought“) können in Form von gesprochenem Wort, Musik oder dargeboten werden.

Nach jeder Provokation findet eine kurze offene Diskussion zwischen den Anwesenden, Künstler*innen und Kreativen statt. Gemeinsam interpretieren und transformieren sie die Idee des Provokateurs in ein Medium ihrer Wahl (Zeichnung, Bild, Skulptur, geschriebener Text, Diskussion etc.).

::Die goldenen Regeln::

3) Die Veranstaltung ist kostenlos. Wir freuen uns aber über Spenden, mit denen wir das Baumhaus auch in Zukunft für ähnliche Veranstaltungen öffnen können.

** Active Art Salon/Aktiver Kunst-Salon – Auf einer improvisatorischen Entdeckungsreise finden wir heraus, wie unsere Ideen sich gegenseitig beeinflussen und erweitern können. WHAT: Sensing, feeling, action, exploring body-mind states in improvisation.

Playful, exploratory, challenging, strangely familiar – in the early 70’s „contact improvisations“ brought a bounty of fresh opportunities for anybody interested in movement. It seemed to be dance, wrestling, massage, acrobatics and more all rolled into one sprawling form.

Attributed by its originator Steve Paxton as „the smallest unit of democracy“, it is an utterly egalitarian duet dance form. Indeed accessible to any-body, the spectrum of its practice can range from virtuosic technique to contemplative stillness.

I like encouraging people to consider Contact Improv as a practice of increasing your options for movement with open ended inquiry. Especially as we relate to others, it allows us to do things we couldn’t do alone.

So come, explore functional anatomy, the landscapes of imagination, and develop a felt sense of physics, which form the basic grammar construction for engaging tactile dialog and kinesthetic poetry.

This 2 hour mixed ability workshop proceeds a guided Contact ‚jam‘, both are open to all, and all of you have more experience than you might realize! So ‚beginners‘, well experienced, Queer, blind, deaf and persons with disabilities are most welcome, I’ll try my best to make accomodations! (Entrance is barrier free, but the ground level toilet does not have hand supports yet.)

Suggested: Bring comfortable, warm clothing you can roll around in, full length coverage of legs and arms, non-slip material is ideal. Something to lay on the floor for comfort. Recording devices may be useful sometimes for remembering exercises.
A blindfold.  A good measure of curiousity!

Collin Edina has been facilitating unique states of experience since 1999, as a Massage Bodyworker, Peer Counselor, and performance artist. CEL’s work in performance, and instructional courses have included collaborations in events by Borbala Szente, Katri Luukkonen Vega Prem, Karl Frost, Felix Ruckert, and Becky Flowers. His research in aquatic bodywork, music and dance in water – „Improvisations in Immersion“ are some examples of the Body-Mind practices he offers.
