Baumhaus Community Networking Night
Baumhaus weekly Community Networking Night is about bringing together people from all walks of life who share a common desire; to act on their impulse to do what they can to make the world a better place.
Its about enjoying meeting interesting people in an authentic and informal atmosphere, developing organic relationships, through sharing perspectives and collaboratively supporting each other.
What makes community nights in the Baumhaus really special is the great vibe of the space and people…
Program
Come as early as 17:00 to join the food preparation or a bit later to enjoy some informal networking and community building during the Potluck Buffet. Bring what you have from home to share. After dinner we dive into another active meditative jam session… Feel most welcome to come and join us!

I.G.O. Thursday Meditative Vocal Jam Sessions @ Baumhaus
We meet every Thursday to listen, respond, observe and curiously play with the sounds our voices create together. Our objective is to tune into the common feeling we are developing in the present moment.
Most of what we do is with our eyes closed. This allows everyone to be very focused on only the sound space without any other distractions. We usually are more beginners than experienced singers, and that’s absolutely fine. It is a learning process in progress, each time balancing ourselves in volume and expression to merge into the group sound space, allowing everyone to hear and be heard, naturally developing our own musical styles.
All levels and voice types are welcome! Just make sure to be on time: Scott will explain a few basic and intuitively understandable concepts to make it super easy to dive in for everyone.

Das Jahr 2019 hat die Klimakrise endgültig auf die Agenda und in das Bewusstsein gebracht. Besorgniserregende Entwicklungen im Klima- und den Ökosystemen, kritische Punkte wurden schneller erreicht als vorhergesagt. Zuerst mit Fridays, dann über Scientists, Farmers, Parents bis Psychologists […] for Future, Ende Gelände und Extinction Rebellion hat die Klimabewegung gleichzeitig deutlich an Fahrt aufgenommen, Forderungen nach politischem Handeln werden immer lauter.
Gleichzeitig geht mit Ende des Jahres auch das Projekt trim tab collective im himmelbeet und im Baumhaus zu Ende (gefördert von der nationalen Klimaschutzinitiative). Über zwei Jahre hat es ein Forum geboten, lokale Angebote aufgebaut und Dinge angestoßen – ein Experiment, wie wie wir Klimaschutz im Kiez von unten weiter vorantreiben können.
Zum Abschluss laden wir euch ein: zwei Tage Austausch, Bilanz, Reflektion über die letzten beiden Jahre und das was kommt!

To build a sustainable project, a balance has to be found between the project’s vision and its financial viability: how to make the project resilient without losing sight of its mission, and how to fulfill the vision without exhausting the stakeholders?
comit helps entrepreneurs and NGOs develop sustainable projects, by conceiving and adapting methods and tools to empower, entrepreneurs, freelancers and managers to structure the business-model of their organisations. Throughout this workshop, we will introduce a way to set up a strong business-model in line with the vision. This approach will then be applied on your projects through exchanges and examples.

We meet every Thursday to listen, respond, observe and curiously play with the sounds our voices create together. Our objective is to tune into the common feeling we are developing in the present moment.
Most of what we do is with our eyes closed. This allows everyone to be very focused on only the sound space without any other distractions. We usually are more beginners than experienced singers, and that’s absolutely fine. It is a learning process in progress, each time balancing ourselves in volume and expression to merge into the group sound space, allowing everyone to hear and be heard, naturally developing our own musical styles.

Worum genau geht es beim Thema Digitalisierung und Nachhaltigkeit? Warum müssen Nachhaltigkeitsstrategien grundlegend weiterentwickelt werden? Wie ist die Digitalisierung in ihrer Dynamik und Wirkung zu fassen? Wie kann der digitalen Wandel in Richtung Nachhaltigkeit gelenkt werden? Und vor allem: was können wir hier in Berlin konkret tun?
Bits & Bäume Berlin* lädt ein zu Gastvortrag & Diskussion. Zu Gast: Marcel J. Dorsch, wissenschaftlicher Referent beim Wissenschaftlichen Beirat der Bundesregierung Globale Umweltveränderungen (WBGU). Das aktuelle Hauptgutachten des Beirates bietet erstmals eine umfassende Analyse und Systematisierung der Chancen & Risiken der Digitalisierung für die Transformation zur Nachhaltigkeit, sowie Handlungsempfehlungen für Politik und gesellschaftliche Akteur*innen. Eine Charta soll grundlegende Prinzipien für ein nachhaltiges digitales Zeitalter festschreiben.
Wir lassen uns WBGU-Hauptgutachten & Charta-Entwurf vorstellen und überlegen anschliessend, was wir als Berliner•innen, Techies und/oder Ökos mit all dem in Berlin anfangen wollen. Alle sind willkommen, kommt vorbei & denkt und diskutiert mit!

We are currently facing a temporary existential financial emergency/crisis that we could really use some help resolving. As you may know, Baumhaus has been completely self-financed without receiving any public funding. So far we have been flexible and able to react to the needs of the broader sustainability community in Berlin and even support several social projects with pro bono work. Now the challenge to keep all this going is a bit too much…
The good news is that we are currently in extensive talks with the city to fund us for a project – The bad news is that we are fighting to keep the Baumhaus open until then and pay all the bills the next 2 months. We find ourselves in this “funding gap” situation because since an extensive knee surgery in September, Scott is still at very limited capacity, and now we are also in the middle of the “low season” for space rentals, which usually lasts from December to March…
Now we are reaching out to our broader community to see if there are some ways to help us fill our 2000€ budget gaps for February and March. You can help by connecting us with any ideas or leads to institutions, businesses, individuals or organizations who:
• need a space to rent for their next events
• could be interested to book any of our sustainability workshops or Baumhaus tours/talks
• could be interested in any of our services to develop sustainable projects, products, spaces or systems
