Workshop "PreUse - Explorative Session to Sustainable Design" :: Emergent Berlin 2017 @ Das Baumhaus | Berlin | Berlin | Germany

Recently I came across the term “PreUse” from ReFunc. PreUse means to use objects and building materials for something else than initially intended but leave it entirely intact so that it is also still good for the initial use! An example most people know is a flowerpot turned around and used as an ashtray.

PreUse is an interesting way to explore and communicate the concepts of sustainability and circularity. It points to already existing modular and circular solutions.

Let’s look into that and find and create more examples together. More on PreUse here: http://mifactori.de/preuse/

I am Lars Zimmermann, an artist and economist based in Berlin researching Open Source and Circular Economy with a variety of different projects like Mifactori (mifactori.de), The City Is Open Source (thecityisopensource.de) or the Open Source Circular Economy Days (oscedays.org).
